INTERVIEWING TOURISTS


REMEMBER
A. INTERVIEW FOUR different groups of tourists. Have at least 4 COPIES OF THE QUESTIONS (for 4 interviews).
B. FILM AT LEAST 2 INTERVIEWS.
C. You should be A GROUP OF THREE (OR TWO) and ANOTHER GROUP should help you film the interview.
D. PLACE THE MOBILE HORIZONTALLY to shoot.
E. FILM the interview FROM THE SIDE focusing on yourselves rather than the tourists
F. Write down the answers. If 2 or 3 people are being interviewed at the same time, write down ALL DIFFERENT ANSWERS as well, marking them clearly.
G. You MUST EXPLAIN a bit all the PICTURES you show USING YOUR OWN WORDS.
H. The pictures are :
     a. Catalan sights
     b. Typical Catalan dishes
     c. Some Catalan traditions
I. Check your PRONUNCIATION before.

INTRODUCE THE ACTIVITY
1. Excuse me, do you speak English?
   ‘No’ - ‘okay, bye.’
   ‘Yes’ – Good, we’re English students and we’re interviewing and giving some interesting information to tourists.
2. Do you have a couple of minutes for us?
   ‘Yes’- ‘Thank you very much.’
3. We have to film it, but we’ll film you from the side, so don’t worry.


FILMING: Hi, thank you for allowing us to do this interview. We’re (name), (name) and (name). Let’s go with the first question.

THE INTERVIEW
1.     Where are you from? Where do you come from?
2.     Why did you decide to visit Catalonia?
3.     What things do you like about Barcelona or Catalonia? Food, monuments, people…, anything.
4.     Do you know any Catalan words or expressions?
(Teach them 2 or 3 words)
5.     Can you name 3 important sights in Barcelona or in Catalonia? (monuments, interesting places or things to see?) (At the end, show your pictures of La Sagrada Família, La muntaya de Montserrat, El Museu de Dalí, El Tibidabo…)
6.     Can you name three typical dishes or drinks from Catalonia? (At the end, show your pictures of panellets, crema catalana, escudella, and explain something about each one.)
7.     Do you know any Catalan traditions? Festivities, celebrations…? Now we’ll show you some pictures about Catalan traditions. (Explain with pictures some of the Catalan traditions: Caga Tió, Castellers, Sant Jordi, Correfoc, la Castanyada, Sardanes…)
8.     Could you explain a tradition from your country?
9.     What does Barcelona have in common with the place where you come from?
10.  Did you like the interview? Why?
